The Global Trade Research Intern will help support a variety of projects that will range in scale and complexity. This role will provide direct support for global import and export initiatives for Arkansas. You must be detail oriented, thorough, demonstrate accountability, and understand the financial impact of transaction with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills by learning from and collaborating with a talented team.
Position responsibilities additionally include preparing documents and presentations for meetings, workshops, and conferences, as well as global market research pulled from various resources. This position offers the student opportunities to build networking contacts, build a portfolio and explore several career paths in international business, public relations, supply chain, and global markets.
This position will be housed at the World Trade Center Building, Rogers, AR.
The intern must understand the contract creation process and governing trading roles; understand and execute documentation requirements for Arkansas Customers expanding into inter-state and global trade; issue/review instructions to ensure on-time progress for our customer's needs; understand and use compliance tools and regulations; maintain KPI's and establish audit reporting to ensure 100% compliance; collaborate with Trade Directors, Marketing and Communication and external partners and customers to ensure accurate project execution; advise trade details as required to customers or partner organizations; follow-up with customers, manage daily progress, and maintain record of all communications in files; index and create tracking files for trade training and education processes; support partner events and trade missions; research and produce any environmental reporting necessary to conduct business in other countries as required by trade agreements.

Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an Agriculture, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar degree program at an accredited institution, entering junior or senior year, MBA Student or Graduate PHD student
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Outlook, OneNote, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to work well in a team environment; develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
Capacity to think and solve problems independently within a changing environment while being customer focused and building solid relationships
Strong interpersonal and business communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage time effectively, make decisions and work independently within a team atmosphere
Experience with Free Trade Agreements a plus
Comfort in communicating with those from other cultures and understanding of cultural fluencies
Speaking multiple languages is a plus
