Summary of Job Duties:
Counseling, Human Performance and Rehabilitation (CHPR) at the University of Arkansas at
Little Rock is seeking an Instructor Faculty member at the undergraduate level. The CDS
Instructor is expected to: engage in on-campus and online teaching, including maintenance of
on-campus office hours; collaborate through service obligations to the school, college, and
profession; and maintain all professional credentials. This position is governed by state and
federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience:
- M.S. degree in Audiology and/or Communication Sciences and Disorder;
- Certification in clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or Audiology (CCC-A);
- Previous teaching experience, preferably in the field.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Ph.D. or Au.D. in Audiology and/or Communication Sciences and Disorder;
- Field-specific online course development experience;
- Experience in Audiology Assessment and Rehabilitation;
- Research experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 9 credit hours per Fall and Spring term, with possible Summer teaching available based on the needs of the program;
- Help coordinate student clinical experiences;
- Assist with program and school committee responsibilities;
- Assist, monitor, and evaluate students in the courses assigned;
- Assist and offer professional guidance to students interested in Audiology or Speech-Language Pathology;
- Maintain all professional credentials such as certificate for clinical competence (CCC-SLP or CCC-A).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrable knowledge of best practices in area of expertise;
- Demonstrable knowledge of ASHA’s 2020 Standard for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology;
- Ability to interact, manage, motivate, and evaluate a diverse population of students;
- Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work with minimal direct supervision.
