- High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Instrument Tech.
- Work experience as an Instrument Tech.
- Experience fulfilling orders/requests (packing, assembling & stocking items).
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
- Decontaminate (dis-assemble, clean by hand and/or machine) medical instruments/materials.
- Assemble and package, inspect and test instruments, re-assemble sets, place sets in proper containers and/or wrapping and load/transport loaded carts with prepared sets.
- Maintain record of loads and items being removed from department for processing. Transport loads to and from CSS and prepare proper storage of instruments and equipment.
- Use and test sterilizing equipment; perform dart and biological tests for autoclaves; perform diagnostic and biological tests for Steris sterilizer.
- Record and accurately interpret results of tests; assist OR staff; help locate needed supplies and equipment.
- Communicate professionally even when under pressure/fulfilling demanding and/or stressful requests.
- Position revolves around serving the Operating Room's (OR’s) sterile instrument and equipment needs.
- Must understand the URGENCY of the OR staff’s requests.
- Answer directly to the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
- Other related duties as assigned.
