Required Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Social Work, or a related field;
- Have relevant experience and/or classroom education in Social Work, Addiction Studies, Public Health or Health Education, Administration, Policy/Planning, or Community/Organizational Psychology or related field.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
- Master's Degree;
- Two (2) years of experience with education and training activities;
- Experience in Community Health, Public Health, working with coalitions, training, media campaigns, etc.; or any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training;
- Experience or certification in Prevention services.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordination and Communication:
- Assist in the coordination and facilitation of training and conferences with Prevention teams (as needed);
- Assist with the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of Regional Prevention Provider (RPP) related training and curricula across the Prevention program;
- Facilitate communication and coordination between RPPs and MidSOUTH;
- Maintain open, effective communication with grantor and stakeholders;
- Support grant missions, goals, and principles;
- Assist in the creation of public information campaign, if required by the funder.
Training and Technical Assistance:
- Assist with ensuring that all materials needed for training and/or conferences are at the training venue and/or supplied virtually;
- Assist with venue location, processing of participant training information, and training certifications across Prevention Education and Training programs;
- Help facilitate training and coaching events across Prevention Education and Training programs and workshops as needed;
- Assist in the development of toolkits and other educational materials;
- Actively participate in MidSOUTH Prevention team projects as needed.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Assist with data collection related to project activities as required;
- Assist in program documentation, evaluation, and reporting requirements;
- Assist with the management of paperwork and evaluations for conferences and training;
- Assist with compiling and completing monthly reports across programs;
- Conduct ongoing research to stay current on topics related to grant activities and to keep curricula updated.
Finance and Budgeting:
- Assist with meeting contract deliverables within the provided budgets while ensuring contract deliverables are being met;
- Assist with preparing and monitoring providers' budgets;
- Review funding proposals;
- Conduct audits to ensure deliverables are being met;
- Monitor budget utilization;
- Work with the finance department to review, authorizes, and process invoices for service providers;
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Substance Abuse Prevention/Recovery;
- Possess an understanding of adult learning principles and theories;
- Knowledge of public relations or marketing skills;
- Knowledge of project management;
- Possess excellent writing, interpersonal, and mediating skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks;
- Possess strong project management skills;
- Ability to make objective and ethical decisions in a multi-cultural climate;
- Ability to manage and impart information to a wide range of stakeholders;
- Possess computer skills including Microsoft Office suite;
- Ability to travel in and out of state and overnight;
- Possess a valid driver's license.
