Job Description:
Serving the Auxiliary Enterprises department within the Administration and Finance division, this position provides overall management for parking and shuttle services. The Parking and Transportation Manager provides attentive daily management and direct oversight of the campus parking operation which includes parking software system management, parking facility maintenance, contract personnel, account transactions, permit planning, and vendor relationships. The role also evaluates parking policies as needed to ensure a valuable, relevant service, and to potentially expand revenue opportunities and manages the shuttle contract. May provide management assistance in other Auxiliary areas as needed to support the Director, or in general.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the parking equipment system for the University-owned garage and surface lots. Work with the vendor to resolve parking system hardware and software issues. As needed, partner with the campus card manager and OTS to resolve data flow issues for campus cards and for parking eligibility. Has budget responsibility to operate the parking program in a cost-efficient manner, approves invoices, and has no dollar limit on repair authorizations.
- Manage the shuttle contract and provide excellent customer service to the campus community for parking and shuttle matters. Manage the vendor relationships and services to ensure that each contract evolves as needed to be very efficient and effective. This includes the Fitzgerald garage management, and the campus customers who park there. Has budget responsibility for the budgets under the position’s charge, with no dollar limit on purchases.
- Manage parking permits, billing and documentation, and provides excellent customer service for external customers at the Maryland Avenue Garage. Seek to increase revenue.
- Prepare extensive recurring and custom reports as needed for updates and analysis, and manipulate using Microsoft Excel.
- Assist the Director as needed with management, projects, RFPs, vendor relations, and policy recommendations in any area of Auxiliary as needed. May assist with Mail Services and package distribution as a fill in.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: Three years of progressively responsible experience in managing, negotiating and procuring equipment, supplies and/or service contracts, and vendor relationship management. Demonstrated experience in a high touch customer service environment, preparing transaction summary reports, and performing simple auditing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Five years progressively responsible experience managing, negotiating and procuring equipment, supplies and or service contracts, and vendor relationship management. Parking or facility management experience preferred. Higher education experience a plus.

- The ability to present effective written and verbal reports to leadership and constituents to support recommendations.
- Experience conducting requests for proposals, bids and information to select vendors and service providers.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel to perform simple financial analysis, prepare basic projections and perform audits.
