We invite you to join the Career Center at UC Berkeley as a member of a dynamic counseling team, providing innovative and comprehensive career services. We work with a wide spectrum of students, including undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni. In alignment with the Career Center's mission to advance equity and access to career resources for every student and recent alumnus, we are seeking a Career Counselor to provide specialized counseling and programming for students in the College of Engineering Physical Sciences students in the College of Letters and Science. This professional will work with a teammate to develop, coordinate, and implement counseling and programming that promotes career readiness, and to foster strong, collaborative relationships with faculty, staff and employers.

Responsibilities
Provide career counseling services and related programming for students in the College of Engineering regarding career decision-making, self-assessment, career options, goal setting, career research, the job/internship search process, and graduate school application processes. Research, design and deliver a broad array of career-focused programs and events for students in the College of Engineering. Conduct needs assessments, and collaborates with faculty and staff in program design and development. Develop and implements marketing and outreach to promote programs and services. Maintain campus and employer relationships as they relate to careers in the STEM field. Provide guidance to departments/colleges/schools on providing resources to meet students' career needs. Develop and maintain effective and productive relationships with academic advisors, faculty, and other key administrative staff. Develop collaborative partnerships with academic advisors and faculty members within select departments. Serve as liaison to non-academic (student service) units across campus as an informational resource and to provide special, customized programming. Maintain relationships with student organizations. Develop tailored e-mail communications and other written materials customized to students. Write and maintain specific sections of the Career Center website and contribute to unit publications. Participate on unit-wide committees and projects.
Required Qualifications
Strong knowledge of career counseling as it's used to address a broad range of career/employment issues, such as career decision making and job search techniques using various career counseling approaches. Experience designing and delivering career-related workshops and programs. Knowledge of employer recruiting strategies, job market trends, occupational, career and employment information sources as well as the application process for graduate school. Experience and proficiency with incorporating the use of technology to deliver career services. Understanding and ability to work with and serve individuals from diverse backgrounds utilizing cross-cultural counseling skills. Excellent writing, presentation, and organizational skills.
Education
A Master's Degree in Counseling, Career Development, Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field, and/ or equivalent education/experience.
Salary & Benefits
This is a full-time (40 hours/week), exempt, career position, eligible for full UC benefits. This is an exempt, monthly paid position. The annual salary is commensurate with experience within the range of $65,000.00 - $70,000.00.
