Haas Facilities supports the core educational and research mission of the Haas School of Business by maintaining a safe, beautiful, and functional campus environment, and providing services and spaces for campus life and activity outside the classroom. Haas Facilities is responsible for the safety, preservation, and maintenance of the Haas campus. Haas Facilities works with UC Berkeley Facilities Services to ensure the repair, and restoration of existing spaces; as well as operations, and maintenance of buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

Oversees all aspects of building maintenance operations for the instructional and event spaces for the Haas School of Business. Including Chou Hall, Cheit Hall, leased Stadium spaces, and Haas exterior spaces (e.g. Courtyard).

Maintenance operations: include daily morning rounds/inspections, reporting all issues discovered from rounds by recording/logging them into the appropriate system of record (e.g. Maximo, ServiceNow, internal logs). Submits and monitors progress on Work Orders to campus Facilities Services and to outside vendors or contractors. Serves as the liaison with campus and external agencies regarding safety, access, maintenance, remodeling, and construction activities. Serves at the Haas School designated Access controller. Communicates Building/Facilities operation hours and activities with the Haas Community as necessary.

Recommends facilities-related procedures and solutions, taking into account budgets, space allocation, staffing, and infrastructure design.

Coordinates with multiple units throughout the organization to provide a safe and secure facilities environment. Serves as the Haas liaison to our custodial and landscape/grounds partners/vendors. Monitors custodial services and ensures our established contracts/MOU's are being met.

Assists department leadership with budget development for moves and minor building infrastructure upgrades. This includes assistance with long-term planning and forecasting.

Coordinates emergency repairs during and after normal work hours. May assist with Haas and campus emergency/disaster preparedness planning and operations.

Required Qualifications
Thorough knowledge in the areas of building space planning, codes, capacity, security, fire safety, organization and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Thorough interpersonal skills including good service orientation and effective problem-solving. Knowledge of architectural or engineering concepts. Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a desire to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to establish and maintain positive & professional working relationships with colleagues, students and team members. Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in a business, organization or public university setting.

Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough and effective skills to multi-task and prioritize daily activities effectively.
Salary & Benefits

This is a 100% time (40-hrs a week), monthly paid, exempt position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience up to $93,100.00.
