Departmental Overview
Berkeley Public Health (BPH) aims to improve population health, especially for the most vulnerable, through interdisciplinary collaborations, preeminent education, and transformational research. Established in 1943, BPH is a professional school on the UC Berkeley campus that comprises six academic divisions and nearly 30 research centers and programs.
BPH Online is designed for working professionals to complete a MPH degree remotely in just over two years. Coursework is delivered primarily online, with two on-campus periods of face-to-face instruction during summer on the Berkeley campus.
Position Summary
Involves designing instructional content for self-phase online courses, creating interactive media content, and building content modules in various learning systems and platforms using a variety of software applications in support of academic and professional programs.

Responsibilities
- Applies advanced instructional design skills to articulate course design for a diverse array of graduate and post-graduate public health courses, including specialized quantitative subjects.
- Recommends faculty and teaching assistants appropriate technologies and pedagogical strategies grounded in data analysis.
- Supports faculty and staff in the creation of multimedia content.
- Contributes to analytical testing of content and tools to meet ADA requirements.
- Works in a collaborative manner with other instructional designers, technology staff, faculty, and teaching assistants.
- Engages in professional development to stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in instructional design and online education.
- Participates in workshops, trainings, and other professional development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

Salary & Benefits
The budgeted annual salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $86,700.00 - $100,800.00.
This is a 2-year, full-time (40 hours / week), Contract position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
