Position description :
The Department of Film & Media at UC Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach undergraduate-level courses, should a need arise, in any of the following possible areas :
- Reading and Composition (first- and second-year university writing courses using film and media materials)
- Special Topics in Film and Media (courses on themes, genres, or auteurs)
- General Film History
General Duties :
In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and interacting with students outside of class time via email and campus web-based course resources.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application) :
Advanced degree.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start) :
For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US visa that allows employment) is required by the start date of the position. The department is unable to provide a visa / work permit.
