The UCD Infusion Pharmacies provides infusion medications for oncology and other patients who require infusion medications in an ambulatory setting. The Infusion Pharmacy Technician is a vital part of the healthcare team, specializing in preparing and dispensing intravenous (IV) medications to patients receiving infusion therapy. This role involves practical, operational, and administrative responsibilities to ensure the safe and effective delivery of infusion medications, compliance with regulatory standards, and an elevated level of patient care.
This is a float position. The Infusion Pharmacy Technician will cover primarily at the C Street and Folsom Infusion pharmacies. The technician may be expected to work at any of the other UCD Infusion Pharmacies as needed, including: UCD Cancer Center Infusion Pharmacy, (916) 734-5863; UCD, Placer Center for Health Infusion Pharmacy in Rocklin, CA. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- California Licensed Pharmacy Technician
- Prior experience in sterile compounding or infusion pharmacy.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in sterile compounding under USP and USP guidelines.
- Working knowledge of and skill to apply practices, principles and techniques of patient care related to areas of expertise.
- Current knowledge of generic brand names of all formulary drugs and understanding of the use restrictions that may apply.
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, and drug abbreviations.
- Working knowledge of current California Pharmacy Law.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
- Sterile Compounding Certification (e.g., ACPE IV certification)
- Experience using Epic and Dispense Prep.
- Familiarity with EPIC and Dispense Prep.
- Strong attention to detail for preparing and labeling medications.
- Understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, DEA, and California Board of Pharmacy.

Department Specific Job Scope
The Department of Pharmacy is a dynamic, integral, and critical part of patient care provided by UC Davis Health. As a department of greater than 600 professional, technical, and administrative support personnel, we focus on providing patient-centered medication management that optimizes outcomes through practice, education, research, and leadership through the continuum of care. We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.
The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.

Work Environment
