Responsibilities
Under general supervision, the lab assistant will perform technical and supervisory duties in a wet laboratory. Lab assistants participate in the maintenance of mouse colonies that complies with animal protocols. Routine tasks include breeding, genotyping, observe animal health, treating mice using oral gavage or injection through different routes, and necropsy. In additional to performing animal studies, the following examples are typical of technical assignments at this level: general lab maintenance, record keeping using Excel, produce animal protocols, process specimens for RNA/DNA/protein, perform general biochemical assays or PCR using provided protocols.
Required Qualifications
Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.
* Prior animal lab experience.
* Prior experience with data storage systems.
* Experience purchasing laboratory supplies and equipment inventory.
Special Requirements
* This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
