Job Summary
This role encompasses various responsibilities, including but not limited to performing semi-skilled and skilled cleaning tasks, cleaning outpatient clinics, hospital-based clinics, laboratories, outpatient surgical and procedural areas, and undertaking housekeeping and / or general maintenance duties in all non-hospital areas for UCDH. Additionally, responsibilities include handling regular and regulated medical waste, as well as linen waste, and performing any other assigned duties. Ensuring compliance with departmental safety policies, including the proper use of equipment procedures, is essential. This position is physically demanding, involving significant lifting, stretching, walking, and bending.

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014. Smoking, the use of smokeless tobacco products, and the use of unregulated nicotine products (e-cigarettes) will be strictly prohibited on any UC Davis owned or leased property, indoors and outdoors, including parking lots and residential space.
Incumbent must be willing and able to work variable shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and float to other units / areas / buildings / runs. This position may be assigned tasks in patient care areas where isolation precautions may be required. This position may require staff to clean and handle blood / bodily fluids, hazardous materials and chemical waste. Uniform and / or protective clothing and / or gear will be provided. Job training and orientation will be provided. Position is subject to a Functional Capacity Assessment for new hires, a Criminal Background Investigation, and a Physical Evaluation. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs, push / pull 200 lbs., and be able to stand, walk, squat, and kneel for an extended period.
