Position description

This is a pool recruitment for academic, non-tenure track, limited-term appointments for part-time Lecturer positions. We are seeking qualified candidates with current knowledge and work experience who can create an interactive and engaging learning environment for students. Lecturer positions are dependent upon instructional needs for the 2025-2026 academic year. To see possible course descriptions, visit: https://law.ucdavis.edu/registrar/course-descriptions.html. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a J.D. or equivalent degree and possess exemplary professional experience in the substantive area of law covered by the course(s).

SALARY:
Commensurate with qualifications, education and experience. Salary will be prorated based on percent of appointment for part-time Lecturer positions. The percent of appointment depends on the type and number of courses assigned.

EXPECTED DUTIES:
General responsibilities include: Teaching, holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and other duties as assigned.

Screening of applicants begins immediately and will continue as needed. Decisions will be made on a rolling basis and the timing of decisions will vary according to a variety of factors including curricular need and course scheduling. Candidates under consideration will be contacted by the School of Law. The applicant pool will close on December 31, 2025; candidates who have yet to receive an offer and who are interested in remaining in the pool after that time will need to submit a new application.
