Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two years employment with experience in handling and curating archaeological material, handling of biohazardous material (including body fluids), handling and curating paleontological material.
- Experience following standard operating protocols and written reports, have experience with proteomic mass spectrometry and data analysis.
- Experience in laboratory management, including maintaining inventory.
- Familiarization with Window Office Suite Software Products.
- Generage Bioinformatics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Forensic Science, training in proteomic mass spectrometry, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with written reports.
- Experience developing assays and procedures.
- Experience with keeping and maintaining environmental, health and safety records.
- Knowledge of Proteomic Mass Spectrometry.
- Familiarization with bioinformatics, including genetic and proteomic databases.

Department Overview
The Department of Environmental Toxicology at the University of California Davis, focuses on the interactions and synergies between environmental processes and chemistries, human behavior and practices, and their biological impact. As such it is a multidisciplinary department with expertise across the life sciences, environmental chemistries, analytical chemistry, biology, ecology and evolution. Because of significant technical overlap it also has a history of engagement with the forensic sciences.
This position is as part of the Parker Lab in the Department of Environmental Toxicology. The Parker Lab focuses on forensic proteomics, but also on proteomic applications in archaeology and paleontology. This position will require the design and execution of experiments and assays, and the analysis of resulting, often complex datasets. Candidates for the position will be required to: 1) demonstrate experience in curating, handling and processing forensic, archaeological, and paleontological materials. 2) demonstrate experience in proteomic processing and analysis. 3) demonstrate experience in laboratory management, including purchasing of equipment and supplies, logistics, and management of environmental, health and safety standards.
