Job Summary
Under general supervision, serve as one of five primary advisors in the Orange Cluster Undergraduate Advising Center. Provide comprehensive, advanced academic advising on a wide range of complex issues to undergraduate students in the departmental majors and support faculty members. Independently handle orientation processes, including freshman and transfer students. Interpret and implement policies and administer undergraduate activities for the department. Work with faculty on program development and administration. Manage quality assessment and policy development. In partnership with all academic advising units and academic success initiatives, work to implement campus-wide academic advising initiatives and act as the representative of the unit in discussions with other student-oriented units, including those housed in other undergraduate colleges, undergraduate education, or student affairs.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and / or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in holistic advising and counseling approaches and experience with academic policies, procedures, and requirements in a higher education setting; recommending solutions to progression and requirement issues; ability to make proper referrals to other campus resources. Knowledge of UC policies regarding privacy of information.
- Experience using interpersonal communication, problem-solving and listening skills to identify and document patterns of student academic needs; to develop strategies and programs to successfully meet needs; experience and skills to facilitate workshops and present in public forums; and to interact and provide guidance to emotionally upset students and parents from all backgrounds.
- Knowledge of evidence-based advising and student development strategies that advance principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, including experience discussing and engaging in practices directly related to equity, inclusion, identity development, diversity, and cultural competency and humility.
- Ability to make decisions independently, manage details of complex projects and processes aligned with strategic priorities from start to finish with minimal direction, adapt to constantly shifting priorities and outcomes, and contribute to a shared team model where collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and cooperation are emphasized to provide high-quality student services

This position is a direct report to the Orange Cluster's Undergraduate Advising Supervisor. This position will work closely with the Department Chairs, Orange Cluster CAO, Undergraduate Directors, and respective Undergraduate Affairs Committees.
