Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This position serves as the Executive Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for directing and leading the operational, financial, and personnel activities of organization's Revenue Cycle. The Executive Director collaborates with various stakeholders to coordinate Revenue Cycle activities across the enterprise, supporting organizational projects and initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Revenue Cycle, this role ensures compliance with healthcare legislation, drives system redesign, and aims to improve revenue and reduce costs. Additionally, the Executive Director assesses the personnel and revenue implications of organizational changes, assists in implementing these changes, and monitors their impact. Position requires outcomes focus to continuously monitor and drive improvement of key performance indicators and the overall success of strategic Revenue Cycle initiatives. The ability to partner with hospital and physician leaders in a large academic center setting will be critical to incumbent's success.

Required Qualifications:
- Significant understanding of healthcare business and finance principles, with special emphasis on comprehensive management of all hospital billing, collections, and coding
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum ten (10) years in in a hospital or academic setting as a Director of Revenue Cycle or comparable position
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Excellent customer service and public relations skills
- Effective report writing, presentation skills, and written and verbal communication skills in English to a broad audience of executives, management, faculty, staff, and patients
- Detailed understanding of federal rules and regulations regarding revenue cycle
- Detailed understanding of California state rules and regulations regarding revenue cycle, compliance, and patient friendly billing
- Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and change management principles
- Demonstrated experience with project management
- Broad knowledge of healthcare within a multisystem or academic medical center
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in an academic medical center or complex teaching environment
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
