Your Role on the Team
The Comprehensive Ophthalmology position is a staff physician position within the Department of Ophthalmology located at UCI Health. The primary clinical site will be at our Brea satellite office, with some coverage at Irvine and Orange facilities. This staff physician position does not have a teaching or research requirements. The Comprehensive Ophthalmology position focuses on the delivery of eye care to the level of expertise of the physician with the referral of cases to tertiary care subspecialty ophthalmologists as appropriate.
The position focuses on primary management of ophthalmic diseases including anterior segment, ocular surface, medical glaucoma, and retinal screening. This position offers the practitioner the opportunity to create long-term relationships with their patients in the life-long care of their eye health.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required :
- Comprehensive Ophthalmologist; board-certified, full scope of comprehensive ophthalmology services including diagnosing and treating wide range of eye diseases and conditions.
- Interpersonal skills : ability to motivate, inspire, and communicate with faculty, fellows, residents, staff, and peers to maintain a professional, team-based approach in the care of patients
- Demonstrated professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct of practice.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner, and organizational skills
- Patient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients.
- A strong work ethic and desire to participate in team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
- Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge
- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- Completion of accredited residency training program
- Ability to obtain a California license
- Board Certification or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
- Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certification
- Experienced in providing and / or oversight of comprehensive ophthalmology

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $111,100- $300,000.
