Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
The Physician Recruiter is an advanced professional with a strong knowledge of the UC system and academic HR policies and programs. This position is primarily responsible for providing strategic support and guidance in hiring for complex faculty and clinical associate physician roles supporting various stages of the recruitment process, including identifying, attracting, assessing, interviewing, and shortlisting candidates for open vacancies. Facilitate the academic recruitment process by sourcing candidates to assist various departments within the School of Medicine, identifying potential candidates with the oversight of the Assistant Director of Physician Recruitment and building relationships with the department administrator, department chair, and hiring leader. Make recommendations and provide strategic advice related to more complex and/or sensitive personnel situations, procedures, and process improvement; conduct analysis; and function as a resource and specialist within the team. Incumbent is responsible for appropriate follow-through with faculty and physician candidates within assigned areas to recruit and assist departments with itineraries for candidate’s interviews and provide onsite support to enhance the candidate experience during visits. The Physician Recruiter will also be responsible for appropriate follow-through on administrative support and committee work that will enhance the faculty candidate experience.

*HYBRID POSITION. WILL REQUIRE FLEXIBILITY TO WORK ON SITE AS NEEDED/REGULARLY TO MANAGE CANDIDATE ON-SITE VISITS AND INTERVIEWS.**

Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within the recruitment field
  • Experience with in-house Physician Recruitment and/or Physician Recruitment Marketing and Sourcing
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent organization, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks and projects
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet goals and deadlines with limited oversight and direction
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and provide well-reasoned, sound advice and workable solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Advanced knowledge, expertise, and ability to apply, interpret, and execute on HR best practices and trends related to the recruitment process
  • Advanced knowledge of systemwide and organizational policies, procedures, and practices governing academic and physician recruitment
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact, build relationships, and communicate effectively with individuals at various levels within and across the organization and externally
  • Ability to work collaboratively and positively contribute to a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of institutional goals, priorities, and values regarding academic excellence, diversity
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with in-house physician recruitment
  • Experience working within Academic Physician Recruitment
