As a Histotechnologist 1, your key duties will include:
*Process, embed, cut, and image a variety of tissues specimens for electron microscopy.
*Prepare thick and thin sections as needed, including staining and special processing, preparing knives, reviewing and scanning grids, preparing digital photography.
*Maintain quality control logs and other documentation to ensure the highest standards of laboratory practice.
*Collaborate with faculty, residents, and grossing personnel to address concerns or questions related to test orders.
*Uphold a clean, well-organized, and safe laboratory environment to promote efficiency and safety.
*Track laboratory supplies, maintain work logs, and place orders.
Salary Range: $52.83/hour - $63.14/hour
*Histotechnician HT, Histotechnologist HTL, or Certified Electron Microscopy Technologist (CEMT) certification strongly preferred.
*Minimum of 3 years' clinical Electron Microscopy experience.
*Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g. HiSET or GED).
*Must have flexibility to work overtime and holidays as needed.
