What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pathway Student Worker position at University of California - Los Angeles Health?
The Office of Outreach and Pathway Programs Student Workers live among the SHPEP and PREP summer programs scholars, working primarily in the evenings and weekends, to provide community support and emergency response. Student Workers are accountable for the administration and implementation of various responsibilities that work towards building a safe, supportive, and inclusive living-learning community environment; assisting with the growth, development, and well-being of residents; planning and holding 1 or 2 social events for the scholars; and providing emergency and crisis response to their community.
Aside from their hourly wage, student workers will receive room and board in UCLA Housing as part of their compensation for the duration of the SHPEP and PREP programs. The room and board compensation total cost is taxable and will be reflected in the yearly W-2.
Salary Range: $18.00 - $38.50 Hourly
- Must be a registered UCLA student
- Skill to counsel students in order to resolve personal, interpersonal, and academic difficulties
- Ability to enforce UCLA Housing and campus policies
- Knowledge of the UCLA Campus and surrounding community
Preferred (training will be provided):
- Knowledge about emergency and crisis response resources available at UCLA
- Working knowledge of related federal and state laws as they pertain to campus and housing regulations.
