What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Epileptologist – Pediatric Neurology Health Sciences Series position at University of California, Los Angeles?
The Department of Pediatrics and Mattel Children’s Hospital of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA seek a faculty member to join the Division of Pediatric Neurology in the Health Sciences series. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible for Neurology and Psychiatry with special qualifications in Child Neurology and have at least 2-3 years of experience in an academic setting. Eligibility for board certification in Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy is required.
Exposure to cortical functional mapping and localization of seizure onset zone using stereo EEG techniques is highly desirable. Experience with moderate-severe pediatric traumatic brain injury, including neurocritical care consultation/monitoring and outpatient neurological follow-up is a plus.
Duties include patient care both outpatient and inpatient, attending service, teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students, and participation in clinical research or other scholarly endeavors that will lead to academic promotion. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, instruct and supervise trainees, obtain quality clinical research data and work on a multidisciplinary team. California Medical License required.
