Position description

We are looking for a highly motivated, organized individual with a bachelor's or master's degree in health sciences (biomedical engineering, neuroscience, physiology, biology, or related field) to work on various funded projects in the Sensorimotor Plasticity Lab with Professor Shahab Vahdat in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California Riverside. This is a full-time position.

The projects involve cutting-edge techniques in rodent neuroimaging (fMRI, optogenetic stimulation, calcium imaging), behavioral shaping, stereotactic surgery, and data analysis, and focus on neural and behavioral mechanisms of motor recovery in mouse stroke models.

The minimum requirements are a BS or equivalent in Neuroscience, Physiology, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, and a commitment to this full-time position for two years. The preferred qualifications are prior experience in working with rodents, electrophysiology or imaging, mouse colonies, or wet lab experience/histology, and knowledge of neuroimaging software/programming

Junior Specialist salary will be $53,100-$56,600 depending on experience. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by experience level. See Represented Specialist Series Salary Scale, Table 24B.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
