POSITION OVERVIEW

Position Title: Nonprofit Management: Part-Time UNEX Instructor
Salary Range: A reasonable estimate for this position is: $875 per unit. Plus, an approximate $100 per unit as a course development fee (payable for the first time the course is taught in each modality)
Anticipated Start: Between Winter 2025 and Spring 2025
Location: University of California, Palm Desert Center

POSITION DESCRIPTION

UC Riverside Extension is seeking experienced and qualified candidates to provide instruction in closely related fields of Nonprofit Management. This is a continuous recruitment for part-time instructors to teach courses in Extension's Professional Certificates in Advanced Nonprofit Management and Nonprofit Management to adult learners. These programs are designed to explore concepts and practices, including legal constraints and liabilities, supervision of staff and volunteers, fundraising techniques, and more to ensure a successful management approach in diverse areas, such as healthcare, the arts, and education, among others. The Professional Certificates in Advanced Nonprofit Management and Nonprofit Management reside in the Department of Professional Programs.

Courses are 10-12 weeks long, average 6 teaching hours per week, and offered in-person at the University of California, Palm Desert Center. Courses delivered in-person are typically scheduled evenings, Monday through Friday, and occasionally on Saturdays.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provide instruction in accordance with the established instructional agreement, curriculum outlines, and class schedule provided by University Extension.
* Communicate teaching objectives and specific learning outcomes to students, and clearly outline the grading policies of the course.
* Work in conjunction with collaborative partners and subject matter experts to ensure that course information is current.
* Participate in scheduled orientations, meetings, and mandatory training programs by UCR's established deadlines.
* Maintain timely and accurate academic records within the learning management system and submit timely and accurate documentation as outlined in the Instructional Agreement.
* Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements
* Advanced degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Five years of related work experience.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational
skills.
* Ability to provide instruction in-person.
* Ability to travel to University of California, Palm Desert Center.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience teaching adult learners.
* Experience with curriculum development and course design.
* Bilingual English/Spanish.
