Job Summary
This position is actively responsible for acting as the owner / builder / designer hub for the complex interaction between construction personnel, project delivery teams, facilities operations, and other key stakeholders, including clinicians, infection prevention teams, and Environmental Health & Safety. This position oversees the Construction Coordination team, which is tasked with facilitating collaboration, communication, issue resolution, and process improvement during the planning, design, construction, and handover of projects. The Construction Coordination Manager, in partnership with Facilities, Real Estate, and Engineering leadership, will establish, document, and communicate consistent, standardized policies, processes, and specifications for all construction and renovation projects across all sites, enterprise wide. The Construction Coordination Manager will partner with Facilities and Real Estate leadership to ensure that these processes, policies, and regulatory compliance requirements are adhered to throughout, e.g., infection prevention and safety practices. This position will also serve as technical advisor to Construction Coordinators and all UCSF Health parties and stakeholders, and support building information modeling and data management to support UCSF Health initiatives.
Responsible for managing the daily support of both Facilities and D&C project delivery. Hires, trains, counsels, disciplines, and supervises staff.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $105,900 - $225,900 (Annual Rate).

UCSF Health Facilities & Support Services is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the facilities and building support systems at the Parnassus, Mission Bay, Mt. Zion and distributed leasehold UCSF Health locations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and / or equivalent experience / training in architecture, engineering, urban design, or city planning.
- 3-5 years of experience in facilitating design and construction projects / teams, preferably in a university, research laboratory, or healthcare environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of trade journeyperson-level supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to read blueprints, navigate electronic building models, and understand contract specification language.
- Knowledge of computer programs common to use in UCSF Health, including MS Office Suite products, Maximo, and Revit, with knowledge of Smartsheet preferred.
- Extensive analytical / problem-solving skills.
- Comprehensive project management skills.
- Working knowledge of and experience in planning, design, construction, environmental issues, legal issues, federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and practices governing planning, building design, and construction, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with senior management, and lead and direct subordinates.
- Motivated self-starter with critical thinking skills able to work effectively without supervision.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid work environment under pressure.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the skill to work effectively with multiple constituencies to advance organizational objectives.
- Experienced and skilled at developing and adhering to organizational processes, protocols, and procedures.
