The student providers in the Dental Student Predoctoral Clinic provide dental treatment to 35,000 patients annually. There are five positions that support the Dispensary/ Central Sterilization Unit in the maintenance of dental inventory. The unit provides direct support to the clinic's logistical activities and maintenance of the equipment. This position is responsible for understanding the protocols for dispensing/restocking materials from the dispensary (dental supplies, procedures associated with the equipment and maintenance of the Predoctoral clinic) as well as floating into the Sterilization Area to support the team in sterilization, and distribution of the student dental instruments. This position will be responsible for the checking in and out dental instruments including the maintenance of the instrument and all aspects of the sterilization process. The Hospital Lab Assistant I will be asked to participate in inventory control, inventory receivables and the delivery of dental supplies to satellite clinic and the Pre-doc Clinic Dispensary.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $26.76 - $33.45 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- High School graduation and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- 2 years' experience as a dental assistant or in the sterilization of dental instrumentation.
- Physical ability to meet the requirements of the position.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, materials, and equipment
- Knowledge of sterilization procedures and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Chair side dental assistant experience
