Job Summary
Under the immediate direction of the Principal Supervisor, and/or Hospitality Services Manager; this position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all housekeeping responsibilities under the umbrella of the Hospitality Services Department, which includes:
* Operating Room Support Assistants & Leads - Technician Hospital Lab 1
* Patient Support Assistants (PSAs) & Leads, Technician Hospital Lab 1
* Tug Ambassador - Hospital Blank Assistant
* Storekeeper
* Dispatcher - Blank Assistant III
* Senior Custodian & Leads & Equipment Cleaners
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $107,500 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
The Hospitality Services Department is committed to maintaining all of our facilities with a high level of cleanliness. Hospitality Services are one of the key components in the continuum of care, as we assist with providing and maintaining an environment of wellness, by performing excellent Patient & Customer Service, as well as performing cleaning procedures and tasks that prevent infection, manage waste, and assists with ensuring a safe environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Working knowledge of hospital, warehouse, or industrial janitorial cleaning.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
- Ability to establish and maintain work standards adhering to health and safety requirements.
- Effective interpersonal and work leadership skills to provide guidance and support to other personnel
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations. Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Basic computer application skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to assess situations and make logical decisions
- Ability to develop strategies in problem solving, and resolutions
- Ability to set priorities and manage conflicting demands. Ability to work effectively under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Prior working experience in a union environment, and knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and industry codes, policies, standards, and requirements.
- Demonstrated experience with training staff on equipment utilization, and cleaning procedures
- CHESP or NEHA Certification.
- Housekeeping Training License / Certification
- Bloodborne pathogens and sharps disposal training.
