Attending Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco invites applications for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Attending Psychiatrist. The positions will be filled at the Instructor to Full Professor level in a series commensurate with experience, with an anticipated start date of July 2025, or thereafter.

Qualifications

  • Physician applicants for the Attending Psychiatry positions must be board certified/eligible in Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry; licensed to practice medicine in California at time of appointment; and, have demonstrated clinical and educational experience in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Demonstrated ability and devotion in teaching and clinical supervision
  • Demonstrated interest, commitment, and cultural competence in working with culturally diverse patient populations
  • Interest in and willingness to support clinical research activities and a strong interest in producing scholarship
  • Applicant(s) materials must list (pending) qualifications upon application submission.
  • All requirements are to be met by the time of the appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Child and Adolescent Attending Psychiatrist
  • Engage in innovation and continual improvements in clinical and educational programs
  • Engage in clinical scholarship
  • Participate in teaching, supervision and assessment of trainees; collaborate with training program directors in clinical curricular development for medical students, residents, psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows, and/or graduate students in a variety of disciplines
  • Particular opportunities to focus in subspecialty areas, such as consultation to primary care, Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, Neuropsychology, Eating Disorders, Dyslexia, and others

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $102,600-$309,800. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
