Job Summary
The general responsibilities of this position are as follows :
- Apply scientific programming, mathematical data analysis, statistical analysis, machine learning, machine vision, image processing, high performance computing, and bioinformatics techniques
- Interface with and support researchers within and outside of our lab
- Develop and apply new techniques and tools for data acquisition and analysis as needed.
- Participate in intramural and extramural scientific meetings and discourse
- Develop rigorous theoretical models, neuroscientific hypotheses, and experimental designs
- Participate in the writing of journal papers and code repository documentation
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $100,000 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
The Foundations of Cognition Lab within the Weill Institute for Neurosciences uses experimental and computational approaches to understand the function of healthy brains and the origins of dysfunction in brain disease. The hire will contribute on one or more projects in the lab to develop data acquisition and analysis pipelines for specific scientific questions and funded collaborative efforts.
