What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Clerk position at University of California San Francisco?
- Is energetic, outgoing, articulate and has good verbal and written communications skills
- Is focused on high quality customer service/hospitality (Think of being the positive-welcoming face our members first see when they enter our facilities)
- Should be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Can respond to member suggestions, concerns, and complaints in a timely, professional, and consistent manner
- Process sales, program registrations, member facility check-ins, and fulfills front desk administrative duties
- Provides support to fitness programmers and managers
- Ensures facility cleanliness and manages supplies in our fitness areas (Think: refilling hand sanitizer, soaps, shampoos, and machine cleaning wipes)
- Assists with towel laundry services
- Must have obtained Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Training certification within the first 3 months of employment (Training and Certification will be provide)
- Is willing and able to assist in emergencies and/or facility evacuations and ensure safety at all times (Think: facility access controls or unsafe use of fitness equipment)
- Should be comfortable working on a computer, using various applications and able to multitask during peak times
- Has an interest in fitness, health or wellbeing
About Us:
The fitness and recreation centers at UCSF provide fitness and wellbeing services to UCSF students, faculty and staff as well as community members through a broad range of fitness, recreation, personal training and health and wellness programs. Our operations unit is an integral part of Fitness and Recreation and provides customer service, maintenance and housekeeping support to the fitness and recreation facilities

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications
- High school graduation and/or equivalent experience/training
- Read, write, speak and understand English fluently
- Flexible scheduling during operational hours Sun – Sat, 5am – 10pm
- Wear uniform including nametag
- Able to motivate and support others in their quest to be healthier and fitter
- Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks with deadlines in a customer service setting under minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Demonstrated skill necessary to collect, organize and disseminate information upon request
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service experience
- Experience in hospitality industry
- Knowledge of the UC systems, forms, policies, structure
- Knowledge of UCSF Fitness and Recreation
- Experience in fitness and/or organized sports
