Tuberculosis (TB) is a life-threatening disease transmitted through the air with extensive medical and economic consequences. It is the leading infectious disease killer in the world, and continues to be a serious public health issue in California. Every year, about 2,000 Californians are diagnosed with TB, of whom half require hospitalization. 1 in 6 individuals diagnosed with TB die within five years, even with modern treatments and survivors may experience lifelong disability. If, like us, you are committed to improving the health of all Californians, please consider joining our welcoming and diverse team of mission-driven professionals.

You will act independently to conduct trainings on TB reporting, data quality, and the use of electronic surveillance reporting systems and directly assist local health department staff when they have questions or concerns in these areas. You will serve as a storyteller by developing data visualizations and dashboards to make public health data useful and accessible for internal and external audiences. You will also develop and refine reports used by CDPH and local health departments, analyze and interpret data, and present data to public health audiences.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
