Job Summary
This position will help with ancillary clinic-related and patient care-related duties so that doctors can work more productively. The goal for this type of position is to help us run and document our clinic more efficiently and effectively by :
- Performing ophthalmic imaging and testing including but not limited to optical coherence tomography (OCT), wide-field fundus photos, fluorescein angiography, slit-lamp photography, visual field testing, and topography.
- Preparing and assisting with in-office procedures including but not limited to corneal scraping, punctal cautery, tarsorrhaphy, and conjunctival biopsies.
- Checking visual acuity, eye pressure, pupils, confrontation visual fields, and extraocular movements.
- Scribing for attending doctor and reviewing finalized treatment plan with the patient.
- Ordering and stocking clinic supplies.
- Assisting with patient phone calls, refill authorization, and insurance denial appeals.
- Assisting with data collection for clinical trials.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $37.74 - $47.11 (Hourly Rate).
