UCSF Health is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Supervisor at our SF Mission Bay location! This position will be responsible for managing all technologists and ancillary support staff under their direct supervision, will organize the workflow, coordination of daily work schedules and shift coverage, be knowledgeable of all procedures and equipment; maintenance of documentation. The position will manage all productivity of the department and staff, will be responsible of orienting and training of assigned staff, students, residents, and faculty. We're seeking strong leadership skills and an ability to effectively communicate with staff, other departments and physicians.

LEADERSHIP / SUPERVISION
Supervises employees in their daily work assignments. Position will over see approximately 4 direct reports, 2 indirect reports
Monitors and ensures equitable distribution of workload and work assignments for employees.
Responsible for training of staff; maintains appropriate documentation for instruction, equipment orientation and department competencies.
Coaches and instructs the technologist as necessary in correct performance of department procedures, image quality, patient positioning and proper use of equipment.
Encourages teamwork and cooperation; facilitates a positive work environment.
Responsible for the workflow in the department :
Organizes the schedule according to the degree of urgency and or acuity level.
Maintains patient waiting times to a minimum by exercising appropriate planning and organization to achieve maximum utilization of resources that are assigned.
Maintains flexibility in the daily routine in order to handle the unexpected problem.
Monitors the schedules and maintains adequate staffing.
Follows procedures from one shift to another for coverage of sick and tardiness.
Assigns lunch and break relief.
Working supervisor assists with procedures and patient care :
Demonstrates expertise on all nuclear medicine equipment in the department.
Current on all procedures; monitors quality of exams performed and makes adjustments when needed.
Maintains equipment, troubleshoots problems as needed.
Coordinates patient examinations that have special circumstances and / or multiple examinations that have to interface with other radiology sections or departments.
Responds to inquiries and / or requests; communicates information to coordinate and / or facilitate the department's services.
Facilitates patient transport.
Responds appropriately to complaints and / or issues from both internal and external customers, to include patients and other sections or departments.
Qualifications :
Current California CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(N) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB)
BLS (CPR) certification
Applied background in nuclear medicine and associated modalities. Knowledge of principles, protocols, terms and concepts. Skill operating imaging equipment.
Knowledge of medical center, HR and UC policies and processes.
Knowledge of relevant regulatory agency standards.
Proven ability to supervise and coordinate activities of subordinate staff, establish priorities and delegate work assignments.
Demonstrated leadership skills in training and guiding employees on radiology modality techniques. Motivates and inspires staff to improve services.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment.
Ability to assist with personnel management issues, such as performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.
Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with staff, patients and other medical personnel.
Solid communication skills both written and verbal. Demonstrated ability to listen actively and counsel and work in a collaborative manner.
Computer proficiency and competency in MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of electronic medical / health records.
