Job Summary
This position will be responsible for all administrative duties relating to the launch of the Clinically Inspired Discovery program under the direction of Dr. Regis Kelly. The Clinically Inspired Discovery program seeks to solidify health innovation as a UCSF aspiration, complementary to its commitment to providing health care. The incumbent will fully own Clinically Inspired Discovery Program's day-to-day activities that include but are not limited to : managing student groups (UREKA program), setting up and maintaining a social media presence, preparing program materials for internal and external use, and facilitating coordination about the program across departments. The position will also include planning and organizing events including symposiums, correspondence with UCSF leadership, monitoring budget and expenses, and providing calendar, scheduling, and other administrative support to Dr. Kelly.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $80,200 - $120,300 (Annual Rate).

Department Description
UCSF has an impressive reputation for leadership in both clinical skills and scientific research. To enhance clinically inspired discovery at UCSF, the Clinically Inspired Discovery Program plans a series of symposia that ask clinicians to describe major but unanswered challenges they see in their patients to a multidisciplinary audience of UCSF scientists selected for their willingness to explore collaboration. This program is currently housed within the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
- Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality
- Analytical / problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes
