Job Summary
Under the supervision of a Principal Investigator (PI), the Clinical Research Coordinator Assistant (CRCA) will perform entry-level duties related to the support and coordination of diabetes prevention clinical trial to reduce a risk of type 2 diabetes and assist in weight loss in adults with obesity using a smartphone app and an activity tracker involving artificial intelligence. The CRCA will receive research training and development to prepare and advance for journey-level work at the next level within the series.
May be responsible for the coordination of one or more single or multi-site, active or follow-up clinical trials; help prepare protocols for study initiation; help design flow sheets, data forms and source documents; gather and interpret medical, surgical and laboratory data regarding clinical trial subjects; may apply understanding of inclusion / exclusion eligibility criteria for protocols; help recruit, enroll, register, schedule and retain study subjects; record protocol specific treatments and assure collection and shipment of samples; assist research personnel to keep patients on study schedules; deliver the weight loss and diabetes prevention educational sessions; conduct physical exams (e.g., weight, height, resting blood pressure, body fat, and vascular function etc.); manage study participants' apps and activity trackers; complete study forms to submit to sponsors and / or appropriate agencies; collect, enter and clean data into study databases, maintaining data quality; assist with data analysis; assist with preparation of reports and tables; and attend team meetings. The CRCA will also perform other duties as assigned by the PI. To accommodate participants' schedule, evening and weekend shifts will be required.
A preliminary job offer and assignment may be extended pending successful background clearance : Fingerprinting and background check required.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $28.48 - $45.80 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- HS / GED or equivalent combination of education or experience; basic mathematical skills to quickly and accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and decimals manually or using a calculator; knowledge of medical / surgical and anesthetic terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.
- Attention to details; punctuality;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Windows.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.
