Description The Department of Molecular & Medical Pharmacology is actively seeking a Research Administrator 4 to join our team. Reporting to the Department Chair, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and other departmental leaders; this role holds primary responsibility for managing all pre-award administration duties for intra- and extramurally funded research awards for Departmental Principal Investigators (PIs). Utilizing advanced contracts and grants expertise, in this role you will handle a high volume of complex transactions. Additionally, you may provide guidance to others on financial and administrative management aspects of research proposals, awards, and transactions, ensuring adherence to institutional and sponsor policies. This role requires independent judgment and a deep understanding of grant, contract, and subcontract transactions, involving nuanced analysis of various factors.
Annual rate : $83,800-$179,400 Qualifications
Required :
- High School Diploma;
- 5 years of extensive research administration experience;
- 1-3 years of complex research administration portfolio;
- Advanced ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet programmatic and financial needs;
- Meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced, fluctuating workload environment; Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel;
- Experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, and cooperative agreements
- Advanced knowledge of effective grant funding processes, procedures and techniques;
- Full knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Code of Federal Regulations, sponsor- specific policies, intellectual property policy, conflict of interest requirements, publication rights, application of indirect cost rates and other complex concepts in research administration;
- Experience with all types of award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, and cooperative agreements;
- Ability to perform highly complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
