Position Summary : The University of Central Arkansas Archives seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized individual to support a team promoting accessibility of archival collections for students, community members, and researchers. Responsibilities include processing archival collections, creating metadata, and assisting with reference duties. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, with potential changes during holidays and academic breaks.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Arrange archival collections for accessibility using best practices.
- Describe and preserve various archival formats including paper, film, and digital media.
- Provide reference assistance during desk shifts, including Saturdays.
- Complete large archival processing projects timely.
- Assist other library departments as needed.
- May supervise student workers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Required Education and / or Experience :
Bachelor’s degree and prior library or archival experience required.
Preferred Education and / or Experience :
Physical Demands : Primarily indoor work requiring medium physical exertion (20-50 pounds).
This position may require a background check and drug screening.
