The Center for Community & Economic Development grant-funded Graduate Assistant provides support for the team’s various trainings, events, and community projects throughout the year.
This assistantship requires 20 hours of work per work during the University’s normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Compensation is $3,125 total provided in monthly stipends (paid twice per month) for April – June 2025 and $5,000 for July – Oct 2025. Graduate assistants are required to maintain a 3.0 GPA and enroll in at least one summer course.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide clerical and administrative support related to the Community Development Pipeline program
- Communicate with new and existing sponsors, board members, event attendees and other constituents
- Assist with event logistics (room reservations, catering, printing, mailings, speaker/presenter/attendee communication, etc.) for the Community Development Institute, training events, and technical assistance services
- Conduct research and evaluations related to the Community Development Pipeline program
- Maintain a directory of the Community Development Pipeline program cohort and other contacts
- Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and university rules, regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.

- Ability to make sound judgments and assist in resolving student concerns.

The ideal candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to operate appropriately in a professional work environment. Specific qualifications as follows:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficient in all Microsoft programs and Google Suite
- Research experience
- Strong communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to complete work by prescribed deadlines
- Ability to work on a team
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
