What are the responsibilities and job description for the OARS Non-Federal Captioning Services Student Worker Position position at University of Central Arkansas?
The mission of the Office of Accessibility Resources and Services (OARS) is to create an accessible and inclusive environment where a student’s educational potential is maximized through the fostering of independence, self-advocacy, and individual holistic development. Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, student workers for these positions will edit and complete captions for all videos ran through Kaltura Lecture Capture for both faculty and staff departments when available as well as answer the phone and scheduling appointments for future and current OARS registered students. These positions have an hourly requirement of 15-20 hours per week.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be able to edit for accuracy of grammar, punctuation, and clarity of expression
- Possess strong communication skills, including listening, reading and written comprehension skills
- Knowledge in office software such as MS Word, Excel and Google Docs
- Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week
