The Alumni and Events Student Worker will play a key role in supporting the Alumni Engagement and Events team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in event planning, alumni relations, marketing, and engagement. The student worker will assist with a variety of administrative and operational tasks related to alumni events, communications, and outreach, while contributing to creating a vibrant and connected alumni and network.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assist in the planning coordination, and execution of alumni events, including reunions, networking events, and fundraising activities. Must be familiar with Google products, Excel, and various planning tools.Support event logistics such as preparing materials, setting up venues, selecting catering and assisting with event day operations. Must be proficient with in-person, email and phone communication.Maintain alumni databases by updating contact information, managing RSVP lists, and tracking event attendance. Training of the alumni database will be provided.Assist in creating and distributing marketing materials such as flyers, and other alumni communications. Must be creative and familiar with Google slides, Powerpoint, and Canva.Provide customer service and proactively engage with alumni through email, phone, or in-person, addressing questions and ensuring satisfaction with various engagements and events. Will be assigned to the Smiser Alumni Center front desk or check-in areas that require one on one interaction.Collaborate with the Alumni Engagement team on social media content creation, including drafting posts and promoting upcoming events to encourage participation.Assist with general office tasks such as filing, data entry, and other administrative duties as needed.Will execute all milestones to become an official UCM Traditions Keeper and will play a role as an Alumni Ambassador

Working Days & Hours: Able to work up to 20 hours Monday - Friday, including some nights and weekends.
