Description
This position is responsible for implementing Responsive Web Design (RWD) via Bootstrap. Employee will also maintain and update the UCM Store website, www.ucmbookstore.com, for operational hours and general information; calendar information and graphics created by the Marketing/Graphic Design staff, such as: promotions, advertisements, and events. This person troubleshoots issues regarding store equipment that may have technical issues.
Examples of Duties
Technical:
- Experience using HTML and CSS. Attributes, Classes, Tags, etc.
- Understand and implement Responsive Web Design (RWD) via Bootstrap.
- Maintain an organized schedule for specific dates for uploading/removing promotions, events, advertisements, etc. for the website.
- Experience troubleshooting computer and other technology issues, to include but not limited to rebooting machines, updating drivers, connecting computer/printers to network (WIFI, LAN switches, etc.); record and track location of registered technology equipment: serial numbers, IP addresses.
General:
- Deliver quality customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effectively communicate with customers and employees having technology related questions/comments, including verbal and written communication.
- Ability to effectively communicate various technical issues to system (MBS) support staff; the store’s inventory control and POS system, as well as other vendor representatives.
- Effective use of the internet to gather information/resources to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Possess strong organizational skills to troubleshoot technical issues at UCM Store in a timely manner.
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively to store’s technical related needs.
- Ability to use creative thinking skills to troubleshoot and reach resolution.
- Possess a good understanding of MS Office programs, to include performing advanced Excel processes.
- Assist with cash register set up throughout the year for various events.
- Bending, stooping and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- General housekeeping.
- Some evenings and weekends may be required for special events.
- Other duties as required, including but not limited to web order fulfillment and cashier assistance.
Typical Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Sophomore or higher in college with CS, CIS, or similar major.
- Demonstrated proficiency using word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and web page maintenance.
- Demonstrated proficiency using HTML, CSS, Responsive Web Design, and Bootstrap.
- Submit/present/explain examples of previous applicable work.
Supplemental Information
Working Days & Hours
- 15-20 hours per week
- Sunday - Saturday 8:00am - 6:00pm
Special Instructions:
