Description

KMOS-TV is a public television station owned by the University of Central Missouri. KMOS-TV broadcasts four channels to 34 counties in central Missouri reaching nearly a million people daily.

This position provides flexible scheduling between 7am and midnight seven days a week, including times when classes are not in session (holiday breaks, summer, etc). Currently seeking students with Summer availability.

Examples of Duties

The position of Master Control Operator is responsible for the day to day broadcast of all four of KMOS-TV’s channels. Students will work in our state of the art On-Air Operations facility (Master Control). You will be trained by the existing students and professional staff in all of the equipment and procedures necessary to provide error free PBS and university programming to the residents of central Missouri.


Typical Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Currently Enrolled in UCM courses
Experience:
  • Word-Processing, Spreadsheet
  • No experience required.
  • Attention to detail
  • Communication skills, including oral, written, and/or nonverbal
  • Sensory abilities: special vision and/or hearing requirements (specify)
  • Human Relations/Interpersonal skills
  • Irregular work hours, Professional appearance

Supplemental Information

Working Hours and Days:

  • Flexible scheduling Sunday-Saturday 7:00 am - Midnight
  • No more than 20 hours total

Special Instructions:

Full-time benefits-eligible position: Benefits include competitive salary; health, dental, vision, life insurance, AD & D, long-term disability; 3 weeks paid vacation per year; 3 weeks of accrued sick leave per year; 13 paid holidays; retirement; and generous education assistance for an employee, spouse and dependent children taking classes at UCM.

Part-time benefits-eligible positions: Benefits include generous education assistance for the employee.

Temporary, adjunct, student employment, or graduate assistant positions: Benefits are not included.
