Description
The THRIVE Instructional Liaison is responsible for teaching courses in the THRIVE curriculum, coordinating the instructional support aspects of the THRIVE Program, and maintaining regular communication with other faculty and staff who have THRIVE students in their classes. He / she must be available to assist students during normal university hours. This is a 10-month professional staff position, August 1 - May 31. The THRIVE (Transformation, Health, Responsibility, Independence, Vocation, Education) Program provides a 2-year residential college experience for young adults with intellectual, cognitive, and developmental disabilities, building skills for transitioning from home to independence, and culminating in a certificate of completion.

Examples of Duties
60% - Prepare curriculum materials and teach THRIVE-specific courses. Which would also include updating 1st-year files, progress reports, PCP reports, and internships.
15% - Serve as liaison to UCM faculty and staff who work with THRIVE students. This will include being the primary contact for THRIVE Students elective class teachers and first-year parents. Monitor the progress of THRIVE students in UCM noncredit and credit courses, including collecting student data, drafting progress reports, and being available to THRIVE students during office hours. The liaison will also be the initial contact to new elective teachers.
5% - Assist THRIVE Director and Mentors in setting up and monitoring study halls and other academic and social support activities (requires some evening hours).
5% - Participate in THRIVE outreach, planning, and evaluation activities designed to meet program objectives.
15% - Using instructional software, complete individualized academic assessment and prescriptive developmental learning plan for each THRIVE student, monitoring progress, and providing feedback on a regular basis.
Typical Qualifications
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in the following fields of study : Special Education, Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, and Vocational Rehabilitation required.
- Master's is preferred in same fields.
Experience :
