The pay rate for this position is $24.04 per hour (equivalent to approximately $50,000 per year)
Position Overview:
Tune, maintain, and repair all pianos for the School of Music and the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) on the UCO Edmond campus and at the ACM building in downtown Oklahoma City. Coordinate piano moving with outside contractors as necessary. Develop and update a maintenance plan for pianos on the UCO campus. Keep track of piano inventory and recommend purchasing as needed.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for all pianos for the College of Fine Arts and Design, with primary emphasis being the Music Building, Mitchell Hall, the ACM Building, and the Jazz Lab. Includes concert tuning and preparation, maintenance of all pianos including regulation, voicing, repairs, and rebuilding. Will work with the School of Music Piano Division Head, Director of the School of Music, and Director of the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM@UCO) to determine tuning and repair schedule for each instrument and will submit monthly report. Performs other related duties as determined by the needs of the School of Music and ACM@UCO regarding the tuning, maintenance and repair of UCO pianos. Qualifications/Experience Required:
Performs administrative or manual tasks. Requires general education or vocational training and 6 years of relevant experience in chosen field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate communication with faculty, staff and administration. Must be committed to the highest ethical standards and demonstrate effective leadership and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to tune and maintain harpsichords, organs, and other keyboard instruments.
