Position typically works Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm.
Position Overview:
The UCO Foundation awards around $1 million in scholarships to undergraduate, graduate, incoming and transfer students every year. This position will serve as the main point of contact and decision maker for the UCO Foundation scholarship application process and is tasked with managing all 550 scholarships. This position will lead and implement all efforts on the Scholarship Manager Application (scholarship portal) scholarships.uco.edu. In addition, the UCO Foundation oversees disbursements to the UCO campus as well as external vendors. This position will oversee disbursements and will be charged with overseeing that Foundation funds are used in accordance to the agreed upon intent.
This position will work closely with various departments across campus that include each of the university colleges, student financial aid, development, and university communications. Along with internal departments, this position will also work with foundation donors, incoming students and community partners. Responsible for coordinating scholarships for UCO through the Foundation’s office, impacting significantly the department’s day to day operations. This position will make decisions in this regard constantly using thoughtful and independent judgement.
Specific Essential Job Functions:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in job related field or 4 years of equivalent work experience in chosen filed that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Requires the application of expertise in a chosen field to achieve results.
Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and be able to operate a typical motor vehicle

- Process new scholarships and funds and ensure scholarship criteria is correct and matches donor intentions.
- All communications to students regarding scholarship applications, requirements, and awards.
- Leads a team of scholarship coordinators across campus.
- Building new scholarships, applications, and committees in the scholarship portal.
- Oversee all committee review.
- Oversee all awarding processes.
- Liaison between foundation and student financial services.
- Ensures all scholarships are awarded to the correct student and the student has received their award in the correct semester.
- Ensures scholarships that are being awarded have the correct amount of funding.
- Assist with the onboarding of institution scholarships.
- Create promotional stories and communications about specific scholarships for donor engagement purposes.
- Create more segmented targets for students in need of financial support that our current scholarship opportunities are not satisfying.
- Create scholarships opportunities that can be used to aid the university in recruitment and retention.
- Advocate for students who are seeking financial help to complete their education.
- Review all fund disbursements to be certain all paperwork is complete and in compliance.
- Meet with various divisions on campus to discuss account balances.
- Liaison for Foundation Board of Trustees.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
