Job Summary :
The CU College of Nursing is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty member with teaching experience with expertise in acute and community-based care across the lifespan (adult and pediatric). The work location for this faculty position is in Durango, Colorado on the Fort Lewis College campus.
Ideal candidates will have teaching and scholarship experience. This individual will hold a faculty appointment of Instructor, Sr. Instructor, Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor within the Instructional Faculty Track. Faculty rank will depend on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and community members from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Successful candidates will have recent experience in the focus areas listed above and a record of accomplishment of excellence in academic teaching. Responsibilities may include participation in the teaching, practice, and service mission of the College of Nursing and the University of Colorado. Demonstration of academic leadership such as curricular / program development is preferred. For APRN candidates, a portion of the position may be devoted to clinical practice depending on the candidate's experience and expertise. While the primary focus for these positions resides in the teaching mission of the College, service and scholarship to the University and the College are an expectation of all faculty members. A successful candidate will help foster a community of belonging and will utilize a justice lens to effectively engage with members of the CU Nursing and FLC communities, specifically faculty, staff, students, and community partners with diverse identities.
This position will involve didactic responsibilities. Didactic courses are taught in the classroom, online, or in blended formats. Supervision of clinical courses includes oversight of student groups within clinical agencies, site visits, and close communication with other clinical instructors and clinical preceptors.

- Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment.
- Provide education through learner-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill patients' evolving needs and meet marketplace workforce demands.
- Encourage a learning culture that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity and ethics, and personal and professional development.
- Participate in activities that promote the stature of the academic programs and the College of Nursing as well as abide by the mandates set by the University of Colorado, and the College of Nursing.
- Participate as a member of CU Nursing teaching teams, including course operations, curricular and program revisions as assigned.
- Introduce students to skills needed to succeed in a progressive teaching and learning environment that incorporates ongoing innovative strategies for competency development.
- Evaluate student application of knowledge.
- Demonstrate basic skills in operating educational technology tools.
- Promote accountability among students by implementing clear guidelines and expectations for preparation, engagement, and self-directed study / practice.
- Serve on divisional, college, and university committees.
- Demonstrate a commitment to collaborative interprofessional teaching and scholarship.

Anticipated Pay Range :
The starting salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE :
Instructor of Clinical Teaching : $86,500 - $96,700 annually at 1.0 FTE
Sr. Instructor of Clinical Teaching : $90,800 - 96,200 at 1.0 FTE
Assistant Professor of Clinical Teaching : $95,000 - $115,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
Associate Professor of Clinical Teaching : $115,000 to $125,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
Professor of Clinical Teaching : $130,000 to $155,000 annually at 1.0 FTE
The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
