Job Summary: |
100% inpatient diabetes/glucose management with the option to substitute 1-2 half day sessions of clinic after at least 1 year of full-time inpatient diabetes/glucose management. Inpatient glucose management will consist of up to 10 half-day sessions per week or four 10-hour days including up to 2 weekends a month on the Glucose Management Team at the University of Colorado Hospital (main campus); this may vary depending on how much time is dedicated to outpatient diabetes and endocrinology work and the needs of the team. Successful candidates will be responsible for interfacing with the Endocrinology consult team and working as a collaborative team member on the Glucose Management Team in order to provide direct patient care, clinical follow-up, lab review and other duties primarily in the inpatient but also the outpatient environments. Knowledge of intensive diabetes management (including multiple daily insulin injections, insulin pump therapy, continuous glucose monitoring, noninsulin therapies, and medical nutrition therapy) will be required in this position. Candidates may also be interested in learning and gaining experience in the evaluation and management of common endocrine disorders, predominately thyroid disease and osteoporosis, but this is not required for this position. The inpatient Glucose Management Team duties will occur at the Anschutz Medical Campus University of Colorado Hospital. Key Responsibilities:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: APP Instructor $109,000 - $123,000 Assistant Prof MD $156,000 - $180,000 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
