Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder Athletics department encourages applications for a Building Services Manager! Work is performed with considerable independence in organizing and prioritizing schedules based on athletic team practices/games, including football and large stadium events at Folsom Field.

This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletics' Department's Mission Statement, Core Values Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big12 Conference and the NCAA.

Responsibilities
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
- Oversee event set-ups for concerts, commencements, exams, trade shows, athletic practices and competitions and conferences.
- Assess the technical needs of the client, as well as operating the event accordingly. The needs of any particular event vary greatly in scope and often require last minute alterations to allow an event to work. Examples may include: audio/visual set-ups and troubleshooting; operational knowledge of scoreboards, video boards, forklift, spotlights, electrical power capacities; ability to assess event logistics and determine the feasibility of client requests within the venue. Regular decisions would include, but not be limited to, determining to proper frequency for preventative maintenance on equipment and systems, as well as what should actually be done at that time. Understanding the affected persons/units needs and trying to address them in the process of solving/fixing the problem. Serve as a point of contact for operation/event manager.
- Plan and schedule maintenance and repairs to various building systems by assessing the problem, determining the best course of action.
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule and pricing for various building systems. Recommend replacement versus repair alternatives. Determines work priorities, scheduling and staff time. Identify degradations and abnormalities in the facility's physical plant that require special knowledge, tools and expertise on the part of outside contractors. Oversee and coordinate outside contractors and University maintenance personnel in performance of duties, ensuring quality workmanship and completion on schedule. A broad-based knowledge of construction techniques and methods is required to effectively accomplish this task.
- Plan and schedule equipment by designing and implementing the proper preventative schedule for equipment, machinery and tools.
- This includes, but is not limited to, the maintenance of forklift batteries and hydraulics, vacuums, floor scrubbers, stage platforms, hydraulic basketball goals and furniture. Daily facility walk-throughs to help compile maintenance and project lists. Maintain inventory levels and orders requests. Familiarity with operations systems such as HVAC, plumbing, wood working, painting, and electrical for quick troubleshooting and communicating with contractors.
- Starting salary is $65,000 - $70,000. Relocation assistance is available within department guidelines.

What We Require
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience may substitute. One year of progressively responsible experience in the building trades including building maintenance planning and scheduling. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- Flexibility of work schedule is required.
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot audio, video, broadcast, and data systems.
- Proficient in PC and Mac environments.
- Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, painting, lock smithing.
- Knowledge of tools, methods and safety practices to complete work assignments.
- Ability to diagnose, assess and plan work assignments independently.
- Willing and able to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience in production and operations support of athletic, or general assembly event support at a university or educational setting.
- Experience working with Daktronics equipment and/or other scoreboard, timing systems.
- 3 years experience in athletics setting within facilities operations, maintenance, or related area.
