The University of Colorado Boulder Department of Psychology and Neuroscience invites applications for a full-time Clinical Professor to serve as Director of the Raimy Clinic, our in-house training clinic for our clinical psychology doctoral program. We seek a collaborative, engaged, and empathic clinician and leader with a strong commitment to empirically-driven clinical training. This is a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track faculty appointment with an initial 3-year appointment at the Clinical Professor level. The position reports to the CU Boulder Clinical Psychology graduate program‘s Director of Clinical Training (DCT). The appointment will begin as early as May, 2025.

The Raimy Clinic is a non-profit training clinic housed within the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience in the College of Arts and Sciences. The Raimy Clinic ( https://www.colorado.edu/clinicalpsychology/staff ) is a critical component of CU’s top ranked Clinical Psychology doctoral program. Presently, the Clinic offers low-cost, sliding-scale diagnostic assessment and psychotherapy services to members of the CU and greater Boulder area community. The Clinic provides evidence-based cognitive and behavioral therapy training and services for a wide range of psychological disorders. The clinic also supports faculty-led research conducted within its facilities.

Who We Are

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder is hiring a full-time Director for our in-house clinic, the Raimy Clinic. This position is at the Clinical Professor level. The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience has approximately 40 tenured/tenure track faculty and 10 teaching faculty. We offer separate bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience to 2,7000 undergraduates and PhDs in 5 specialty graduate program areas (Behavioral Neuroscience; Behavioral, Psychiatric, and Statistical Genetics; Clinical Psychology; Cognitive Psychology; and Social Psychology). We encourage cutting edge and collaborative research that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries, while maintaining a firm footing in psychology and neuroscience.

The Raimy Clinic Director is a pivotal member of our top-ranked Clinical Psychology PhD program, playing a central role in the clinical training and supervision of our doctoral students. The ideal candidate will advance our clinical training methods through innovative approaches in evidence-based principles/therapies, fostering community engagement, and helping expand the reach of our clinic to those who need it most, particularly communities that have been historically underserved.

Responsibilities

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

The primary responsibilities of the Raimy Clinic Director include:

  • Provide year-round senior administrative oversight of Clinic staff and day-to-day operations, including executive leadership over all aspects of clinical care (assessments, diagnosis, treatments, procedures, follow-up care, documentation, and reporting).
  • Lead the management of clinical services year-round, holding responsibility for the quality, safety, and efficiency of care, including crisis response and ensuring compliance with clinical policies and ethical standards.
  • Oversee and manage the Clinic’s budget, ensuring adherence to relevant policies and procedures, and provide quarterly budget updates to the Director of Clinical Training (DCT).
  • Offer senior-level consultation to practicum and graduate clinical course instructors regarding clinic eligibility, referrals, emergency situations, and complex case presentations.
  • Train and supervise doctoral students in delivering evidence-based psychotherapy during a 12-month practicum, including summer.
  • Conduct graduate clinical training in psychological assessment, treatment, and intervention.
  • Teach one undergraduate course related to clinical psychology per academic year.
  • Recruit and oversee community-based clinical supervisors for the Clinic throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with department faculty involved in clinical practica and graduate training.
  • Build and maintain strong year-round relationships with local and regional partners to support externship training and community-based clinical placements, including leading externship site engagement and tracking.
  • Lead ongoing campus and community outreach to support Clinic visibility, referral sources, and client caseloads that meet training needs.
  • Lead efforts to ensure the Clinic’s adheres to legal, ethical, and APA accreditation standards.
  • Partner year-round with the DCT and clinical program faculty in the leadership, administration, and oversight of the doctoral training program and the Clinic.

What We Require

Eligible applicants must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology from an APA and/or PCSAS accredited program (or foreign equivalent) and be licensed or license-eligible in Colorado.
