Medical Services at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Diagnostic Procedure Technician! This position will be responsible for delivering high quality diagnostic radiology services to students, staff, faculty and University guests and their dependents (as appropriate) by conducting x-ray examinations for both internal and external physicians at Wardenburg Health Services. This position provides technical radiological services at Wardenburg by directing x-ray examinations of patients, calculating radiation factors prior to examinations of patients, advising practitioners about radiological images, verifying patient information and updating medical records and electronic jacket, and delivering radiological reports from the Radiologists to referring physicians. This position performs patient billing functions as needed. This is an on-call position, working Radiology hours as needed, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Radiologic Technology Science
- Operates diagnostic x-ray equipment. Positions patient for optimal image. Critiques images for optimal quality.
- Calculates and regulates radiation exposure factors (ie. milliamperage, peak kilovolts, time/distance. grid ratios, patient habitus, and condition of patient) and anatomical positioning to obtain optimal images.
- Confers, consults and collaborates with healthcare providers to clarify orders, to confirm possible additional views and to exchange information about the patient to facilitate the radiologic exam.
- Releases medical information to Wardenburg healthcare providers by phone or EMR. Release medical information to patients compact disc when required for continuity of care with release of information.
- Accesses, retrieves and enters data in Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving Computel System (PACS), Medicat Order Monitor and Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Digital Radiography system(DR) and Wardenburg network computers.
- Tasks include entering demographic information, confirming electronic orders, updating provider data tables, performing billing, auditing information for accuracy and accessing patient records for necessary information to complete an exam.
- This is an on-call position, working Radiology hours as needed.
- Shifts are during normal daytime hours, Monday-Friday, no weekends.

What We Require
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment.
- One year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Additional appropriate experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- A registry or licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate (upon hire or can be obtained within three months of hire).
Basic functional computer skills such as experience with Windows based systems.
