Job Summary
The University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for a Manager of Policy and External Relations . This is a key role in the Office of Government and Community Engagement (OGCE), in the Chancellor’s office at the University of Colorado Boulder. The position supports the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Public Policy and the campus community with its state and federal policy and external engagement work and initiatives and serves as a liaison between campus and the CU System office of government relations to help further the campus’s government relations and public policy goals and strategies. This position manages the state legislative analysis and feedback process for the campus, assists with the federal earmark process, and supports tours, meetings, and events for elected officials on campus. The position will also support the AVC and other members of the team and campus leadership in meeting broader strategic goals of public policy and external engagement.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Management of state and federal policy analysis, feedback and reporting :
- Under the direction of the AVC for Public Policy, manage the state legislative prioritization and feedback process as well as the development and implementation of advocacy plans with campus and system partners. With direction from the AVC, manage the campus federal legislative feedback, earmark funding request process and assist with federal regulation analysis.
- Draft legislative analysis reports, summaries and updates for campus leadership.
- Be responsible for timely communication between system and campus regarding state and federal legislative work.
- Coordinate with the campus budget office to help assess the fiscal implications of proposed legislation.
- Be responsible for maintaining a record of campus positions and input on legislation.
